For Nursery admissions please see the following documents:
The school’s admissions (except nursery) are managed by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s School Admissions Department. The 1590 Trust admissions policy gives first priority to pupils with Special Education Needs or Disability or Looked After Children where the school is deemed to be the most suitable.

Transfers
Moving to a new school
Most of our pupils start at Layfield Primary shortly after their third birthday when they become eligible to join our nursery. Prior to this they may have attended a pre-school setting such as a child-minder, or been at home.
Sometimes it is necessary for a pupil to join or leave our school during the primary phase because they have moved from or are moving to another school. Please see Stockton’s Admissions information – see link above – for further details.
At the end of Year 6, pupils usually transfer to one of our local secondary schools.
Whenever a pupil moves into or from our school, we do our best to ensure that transition is a smooth as it can be. Parents and carers are encouraged to visit our school, meet with key staff and discuss admission arrangements. Children are also encouraged to participate in a visit to familiaraise themselves with the new setting and provide an opportunity for them to ask questions.
