Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

We aim to be an inclusive school and offer equality of opportunity and diversity when needed to all groups of pupils within school. This ethos is extended to our after school clubs and extra curriculum activities (some activities are age dependent, but are available to any child in our school within that age group).

Our SENDCo is Lauren McCarthy. Should you have any questions or queries about Special Educational Needs at Layfield, please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher or the SENDCo.

Complaints from parents or carers of pupils with Special Educational Needs or about the support that school is providing should follow the schools Complaints Policies and Procedures which can be found on the Policies page of this website. The SENDCo will also be involved in any concerns or complaints which are raised with staff.

Admissions for all pupils are managed by the Local Authority – please see information on our Admissions page.

To find out more about what we offer and how we support children with SEND needs please take a look at our SEND Information Report.
